Industry Guidance From Advanced Reactor Corporation (ARC)
The Advanced Reactor Corporation (ARC) was
formed to oversee the development of advanced plant designs including the AP600 during the
First-of-a-Kind Engineering phase. The ARC organization consisted of personnel from
operating electric utility companies. The ARC project office was co-located with
Westinghouse so that ARC personnel could closely scrutinize AP600 design work to verify
that utility industry requirements were addressed. Moreover, Westinghouse solicited input
from ARC personnel as part of the on-going design process to assure that the AP600
benefited from operating plant experience.
